I began preparing myself for long haul of just two more weeks little did I know it was more like two more days.
I went to my 38 week check up on Monday, February 22nd at 3pm. I had not been feeling well early in the day and thought it was typical pregnancy discomfort. My doctor saw me and immediately admitted me to the hospital to have me and William monitored because for the first time in this pregnancy my blood pressure was very high.
Later that evening after being monitored for several hours my doctor came in with the news....this baby needed to be born within 12 hours.
The next day I was scheduled for a c-section at 12:00. He was born at 12:39. The idea of a c-section throughout my pregnancy was one that I dreaded but I was prepared for.
I thought for a while that it may be avoidable but unfortunately it wasn't. Actually we are so blessed that I did not go into labor. We found out after he was born that the cord was loose around his neck, and if he would have descended it may have been bad. I only add that to this post to express just how thankful I am for the attentivness and faithfulness of Jesus. My son was born because of a loving God.
The first day of his life was a surreal day. One that is somewhat foggy to me now, but one full of overwhelming joy and indescribable love.
A family in waiting.......
The happy family of 3!
There he is William Shea Drolet. Born at 12:39 pm on February 23, 2010. He weighed a whopping 8 lbs 12oz and was 21 inches long. He is so adorable. We get mixed opinions of who he looks like.....either way I think he is the most beautiful baby I have ever seen.
I have never experienced this undescriable love before.
