Day 34

Just in last few days he has accomplished big things. First of all...

It's official, William is crawling! My little laid back boy no hurry to get anywhere. But if he spots something that interests him you can see those little eyes light up. Especially if he spots the remote, a cell phone or the laptop.

His second accomplishment this week is sitting up. He isnt exactly a pro yet, but he is doing great at it. He still tips over and loses his balance from time to time.

Photobucket
The third accomplishment (I could not get a pitcture of) is the appearance of two bottom teeth. You can see them coming through now. Since I couldnt get a picture of the actualy teeth here is one of him gettting them in.
Photobucket
And here is my favorite photo from the day. I just think he looks so sweet in it.

Day 32 & a surprise in the park

I had a photoshoot today. It was a 6 month baby girl named Anna Cate. She was pure sweetness.
I have shot nothing but little girls the last 2 weeks.
I am pretty happy with the finished product too, that is always a relief.

In choosing the photo of the day, I relfect on my day and what I will remember from this day. So, in reflecting on today and this photoshoot the image below is what I will remember about this photo session.
Photobucket
Yep, I just came accross a fairy sitting in the park..IMAGINE THAT!

Photobucket

and she was reading....what a very smart little fairy.

Day 31

He fell asleep in my arms. But as soon as he hit the bed he got a surge of energy.

We went to Folly Beach this week. From this time until Decmber is probably my favorite time of year at the beach. We have to go so late in order for the dogs to go too.
Photobucket

William was a little of cranky side, so I didnt get a lot of great photos. But I coulnt resist posting his cranky face. He looks like Shea when he makes this face.

Photobucket

He likes sitting in his seat by the water. He loves the view.....of his feet!

Well, it's offical William has discovered that while he is sleeping we are actually throwing wild, fun parties in the other part of the house.
Just so he wont miss ANYTHING he has decided to fight sleep now. All the time. This wonderful dream baby of mine now almost refuses to nap. At night time he is okay. At times though he will go down for what I think is the night and it is more like 30 minutes.

At 1 AM.Photobucket
SHEA!!! Dont reward him for this bad behavior!!!!

Day 29

I simply adore this man. He is not a man that draws a lot of attention to himself. He is not one that enters a room and everyone shouts his name (though I think they should). He isn't exactly the "life of the party." He doesn't ask a lot of those that he loves. Simply loyalty and respect. He is the last person to ever ask anything of anyone. He is a man that loves Jesus, his wife, son and family. He is a man that wants to wake up the baby when he gets home from work because he missed him all day. Our life together is simple. I like it that way and he does too. He LOVES simplicity. He loves being home on a Saturday night and I love that about him. But what I love even more is that if I wanted a different life, one not so simply he would do everything in his power to make it happen, because he loves me. He is the most selfless person I have ever know. His heart is so pure, so good. In this picture he may look a little shaggy. He is unshaven, and in desperate need of a hair cut. I love it because it captures the man I just described. On a Saturday afternoon, sitting on the floor (that is how he watches t.v.), not drinking beer (not for any moral reason, but because he doenst want to waist the money one it), drink kool aid I am sure, waiting for his highlight of the week...college football game day.

Day 28 Baby Emma Rose

I did a "drive-by" photo shoot this week of newborn baby Emma. She was so teeny tiny. I was holding this 6.5 pound baby just amazed that only 7 months ago my precious boy was this small. Let me take that back...actually, he was never that small. But I realize now that even my little chunky 8 lb 12 oz baby was smaller than I ever realized. I am afraid that I got a little but of baby fever while I was there. Unfortunatley there is only one cure for this kind of fever. Watch out
Shea;0) I love babies!

Day 27

I got a call last week from a family looking to have portraits done of their 6 month old baby. Of course I had to ask the little girls birthday (since I too have 6 month old) I found out that she was born one day before William. Then as we continued to talk I found out that she was born at the same hospital as William. So they were nursery buddies! When I went to the photo shoot it turns out that these parent were in the same parenting class as us that we had to take before leaving the hospital. What a small world!
I loved, loved, loved this portrait session. This sweet little Hadley was a joy and such a great baby. She didn't fuss at all. In every frame she is looking at me with those piercing blue eyes of her's. What a doll!

Here are some of my favorites....

So far this probable my favorite from the day. I still have a ton to edit. But I remember seeing this through the lens and thinking " that was a good shot."

photos of the day 26, props and a guinea pig

I have been trying to think of ways to spruce my portraits. Especially the ones of children and babies. So I went to some thrift stores in search of some baskets and child seats. I actually got a lot of great stuff that I am excited about incorporating into my shoots. One of the finds was this antique baby cradle. I had a newborn shoot coming up so I thought that would be great for it. When I got home I just had to try out the new props on my favorite subject/guinea pig. He really wasn't in the photo mood, but I am his mama and he has no choice. Just kidding! He's a good sport though.
Here are some of him in the cradle.

William's Mini Shoot

I decided to do a little photo shoot of William. When it comes to baby photos, I feel like there is nothing more precious than a baby in their birthday suit. I decided this time to spice it up a little. To me, the second best "look" for a baby is overalls. I love overalls and jumpers! So I plopped him down in the backyard and snapped away. Here are some of my favorites.

Day 20 and other stuff

Here are a couple of things that I think are so cute about William.
One of them is the way he gets around. It is so funny. Though, yesterday he did start getting on his hands and knees for a few seconds. When he attempts crawling he uses his knees and head. He gets up on his knees and pulls himself with his head. It is so funny. This photo is also a little proof that he does actually have hair. He looks bald in all of his photos.

Photobucket

The other thing is the way he sucks his thumb. He just started it a couple weeks ago. I think it mostly related to teething. He refuses a pacifier. I cant really describe it..here are some pictures.

Here is the photo of the day. I just love that little sweet face of his.

spot the baby

I must add a disclaimer before you view the photos and judge me.
Last week EVERYONE in thishouse was sick. I even went to the ER with and ear infection. On top of being sick, William started teething like something awful and I started back to school.
So, yeah we were busy. I got way behind on laundry. I mean WAY behind. This Saturday I spent the whole day washing clothes, but didn't get around to folding or putting them away. This morning I took on the mountain. I tried that whole having faith the size of a mustard seed, and you can move a mountain thing. I really tried it, but it didn't move....probably because I just wanted it to disappear.
So here it is....my confession, the skeleton in my closet...I am bad at laundry.
Can you spot the baby? Where's William?!
