My Sister's Wedding

Last weekend was quite eventful. We went to Kingston, Georgia to the home of my Uncle Joe for my sister's wedding. A family get-together had been planned for the last weekend of October at Uncle Joe's house, but it was canceled due to his job. After that was canceled I got an email from Uncle Joe asking if I would be able to be a part of a wedding at his house for Nicki. It was a spur of the moment wedding, but it was really a beautiful weekend. My hands were so full with trying to help Nicki, and taking photos on top of caring for William without Shea being there that I didnt get as many "non-wedding" photos as I would have like to get. But here are some that I think could represent the weekend.
Photobucket
The highlight for any trip to Georgia is getting to see my family and of course getting to show off William. We all had a lot of fun, playing in the yard, watching the babies play and enjoying the breathtaking scenery of the Georgia mountains.
I had not seen Sid (Nicki's youngest) since he was 3 weeks old. Him and William are 8 weeks apart. He is one of the funniest babies I have ever seen. he cracked us all up with his squeels and grunts. Photobucket
He is a spunky child though. Full of energy and beaming from ear to ear. I was looking forward to seeing how they reacted to one another. The grunting scared William a little and he could not handle Sid crying. William has just gotten where he is really interested in other kids. They were really cute together. Sid isn't sitting up or crawling yet, so there wasn't a lot of "playing" but they did exchange grunts and giggles and big smiles with one another.

Asher was adorable with William. He is loving, and tender towards him. He calls him "cousin" and can actually say William now instead of Willum. I have to admit that I miss hearing him say "Willum."
All of his sweetness unfortunately does not come out in his photos. When I say look at Gogo this is the face that I get.....

Photobucket

Those are my favorite kind of photos though.....boys of course will be boys. I believe he was saying over and over again to me "I WANT CAKE!" And yes, I meant to put that in all caps. He deserved as much cake as he wanted, because I bribed him with cake all day when we were taking pictures.

We started the day of the wedding off with some engagment pictures.
Nicki and Marvin had not had any engagement photos done yet. So we got up Saturday morning and did them.
Photobucket
Well I guess I should get to the "main event"....Nicki's wedding. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL! The ground was covered with colorful leaves. The trees were still hanging on to many as well, which created such a gorgeous scene. The backdrop of the ceremony was a green covered mountain and fall leaves. The ceremony took place a little before sun down. This is Marvin and Asher moments before seeing Nicki. Just look at Asher's face! He is happy to be in a suit, cant you tell.
Photobucket
Nicki was breathtaking as she walked to her groom on the arm of Uncle Joe.
Photobucket and the ceremony was really sweet. I choked back tears all while trying to get the best pictures possible.

Photobucket
Her beauty was not lost of one little person, her sweet son. Asher was standing by his dad as Nicki came down. When Nicki finally reached them Asher exclaimed, "Maaaaama?! Where did you get your dwess!? Maaaaama, I like your dwess!" He must have said at least five times. It was probably my favorite moments from the whole weekend. It will definatley be one of those stories that I tell him over and over again into adulthood. That is one sweet little boy.
Photobucket
Of course we had all three boys dressed to impress.
Since Sid could'nt sit up I did have the antique cradle on hand for him to sit in. I love these pictures but William would not smile. He was soooooo ready for a nap. The weekend was hard on his sleep schedule (an mine). I was about to put him put him down for nap and realized that we were losing light outside. That poor kid, photos always have to come first.
Photobucket
Here is William with his pretty Aunt Nicki. I had to throw it in because he is actually smiling a little.
Photobucket
After the sun went down we had a giant bonfire. We are a family of piros! The night ended with a first dance in front of the bonfire.

I love you Nicki! I hope that it was everything that you dreamed of in a wedding.

A Very Frady Christmas

This Christmas was really special being our first Christmas together as a married couple. We had to find a way though to fit in both families. I am so happy with the way that it worked out. We left Tuesday the 22nd for Kingston, Georgia the home of my Uncle Joel and Aunt Beth. It was a six hour drive, which is nothing considering that I used to live sixteen hours away, but being nearly 7 months pregnant sure can make a long car ride not so fun. I was so glad that my whole family made the trip. I got to see my sister and brothers, my dad and of course the one I looked forward to seeing more than anything....Asher. I even got see cousins for the first time in maybe 10 years.

We had a great couple of days. There was lots of good food, tag football, jumping of the trampoline and just the pure enjoyment of being together for the holidays.

Here are few pictures.....I must warn you though, someone took a razor to my poor nephew's beautiful blond hair. So dont be shocked by the images of the little bald boy....he is still adorable.

Gamecocks vs. UGA

This past weekend finally got to use one of the coolest wedding gifts that we received. My wonderful brother Ricky bought us tickets to the always exciting USC vs. UGA game. Shea and I are South Carolina fans of course while my family members are staunch Georgia supporters.
We drove to Macon on Friday to check into our room. I got to spend some time with my family which I enjoyed. I especially enjoyed seeing Asher. He turned 2 on Thursday and is as cute as ever. His animated personality keeps us in stitches.
We drove to Athens for the game Saturday. It was an exciting game to see in person. Shea and I were way out numbered. Our team played a great game but unfortunately did not win.
I am hoping this will become a new family tradition every year. Playing against each other was cool to see all together. It was terrific weekend full of fun, excitement and more importantly family time.
We had an awesome time! Thank you Ricky!!!

Chirstmas Pictures

It has been a while since I have taken the time to write. I am on Christmas break right now. I have a couple more weeks until I am back in school. I went o Macon for Christmas. I had a great time! I enjoyed the boys so much. Asher is really starting to talk now, and calls me BoBo, trying to say JoJo. One of the cutest things Asher says to people is "sit down" even if you already are sitting. It is really funny....it must be his favorite thing to say!

My dad dressed as Santa for them Christmas morning. They dont understand the Santa thing yet, but it was a lot fun for us. I have it on video! It was even funnier when Asher told Santa to "sit down."
The grandkids really liked sitting on Santa's lap..........

And so did the big kids!

We created a lot of wonderful memories this year. I am looking forward to the wonderful year that is ahead for my family and myself. I am a very blessed woman with so much to be thankful for.

Update....and of course a new page

Everything is going really good here. I love South Carolina! The Drolet family has been especially wonderful to me too. They have welcomed me with open arms into their home and life. I don't know what to with this kind of love from people that were strangers to me just 6 years ago. They are truly the most wonderful blessing in my life right now.
I love all the land that we live on. It makes for a great yard for my babies. Mr. Drolet (Mr. Mark) and I have the best talks about the Lord almost daily with our coffee each morning. I have never been one that can read the Bible before being awake for more than 1-2 hours (much less hold a conversation) but he always has a lot to tell me even as I walk in the door for the much needed first cup of coffee. When I am at school he is a nanny to the dogs. He calls them little monsters....affectionately of course. They have made themselves a special place in his heart.
Angela is becoming one of my best friends. We spend a lot of time together. We are so much a like that it is crazy.....especially since there are 30 something years between us. We both love to be creative, we love the natural lifestyle and find ourselves at Whole Foods and the farmer's market quite a bit. More than anything else that we may have in common though is our love of laughter. We are so goofy together! We have such a great time together...most of it in stitches.....I guess that is all the Irish in us.
I sometimes wonder if this is the kind of relationship that I would have had with my own mama if she were here today. As an adult I think we would have been good friends.

I have another 4 weeks of school. Everything is wrapping up and finals are coming nearer and nearer.
I cant believe that Christmas is almost here too. I actually started a couple of gifts that I have been planning today.
I have finished editing all the pictures I took of Aidan and Asher from last weekend. Hopefully I will put a slide show up tomorrow.
I gotta run now, I have a test tomorrow and a Hamlet paper to work on.

Here is a page a did a few weeks back that I forgot to post. The pictures are from September when I went Georgia to visit my family.
I adore these pictures of my dad and Asher.
I think they say it all.........
